Councillor’s expenses are a pain in the Butt

We’re not public transport zealots here at Manchester Transport – we fully understand that some journeys are difficult to make without a car. We also think it’s good to get the opinions of non-public transport users in order to find out how things can be improved to tempt people out of their cars. Having said that, we do have to wonder what Trafford Council was thinking appointing a councillor to the Integrated Transport Authority who has to drive 80 miles a day to get to/from work in his full-time job in rural East Lancashire. Perhaps it’s just as well he hasn’t been reappointed for 2010/2011 in order to save further embarrassment – but good work by Trafford Council to open up members’ expenses for public viewing in the first place.

P.S. We’d recommend that you didn’t do any Google Image searches for the councillor in question!
