Nominate your local charity for a “Big Day Out”

A light drizzleThat time of year is here again: there’s nothing quite like a nice summer’s day in Manchester. And the folks at System One Travelcards (who provide “any bus” and multi-mode tickets within Greater Manchester) are offering £100 worth of free day tickets to each of ten local organisations, one from each of the county’s ten boroughs – plus £250 spending money – to have a “Big Day Out” on them.

If you know of a local community group, charity or organisation who deserves a “Big Day Out”, you can nominate them by dropping System One a message, saying in no more than 150 words, the name of the organisation and what it does, the borough it’s based in, why they deserve a day out and what the organisation would do on its day out. You can find all the rules and details on the System One website – closing date is midnight on Sunday 3 July 2011.

  1. There are some really deserving charities, voluntary and community groups and social enterprises in the area who could benefit from the big day out. Good luck to all those who get nominated.
